Sarah Jaeger
I make pots for daily use, so I’m concerned with tactile qualities like weight, balance and proportion, as well as visual quality. My pots are porcelain and well thrown, some are thrown and altered. Much of my glaze decoration is done using a wax resist technique which allows me to lay colors, dark over light, and contributes to depth and richness in the surfaces of the pots. I’m striving for generous forms to suggest that the pots both contain and offer their content, and for lush surfaces which, I hope, invite touch and use.
