Color and pattern are integral elements of my work.  I am affected by subtle color shifts that occur between seasons and the natural environment around me.  I incorporate pattern and repetition from nature as well as sources of interest from my daily life into my work.  Excerpts from family letters and architectural photographs from my travels become images on my fabric.  By layering different combinations of these images and working with a wide color spectrum, dramatic results can occur.  I often choose to layer transparent fabrics to intensify both image and color.

My pieces begin with a variety of white silks.  Through employing screen-printing, painting and emersion dying techniques, I create surfaces that are rich in visual dimension.   I continually experiment and explore these processes and find endless possibilities creating unique pieces.
